Kilisut Harbor (Mystery Bay State Park to Fort Flagler Round Trip) – Kilisut Harbor is well protected between heavily wooded Indian Island (a Navy munitions depot) and Marrowstone Island (a beautiful island of small farms and communities). Much of the passage is shallow with oyster beds. Near Fort Flagler are islands that often have nesting sea gulls, and Fort Flagler makes a nice stopover for lunch, bathrooms, views of Port Townsend and Whidbey Island, and hiking. We will ride the tide out to Fort Flagler, take a break, and return on the rising tide to Mystery Bay. There will be some currents and a channel near Fort Flagler to navigate. No open cockpit boats allowed on this trip. Sprayskirts and PFDs required. There will be some costs to be shared that are associated with ferry from Edmonds and possibly with parking. Meet at the new Mountlake Terrace Transit Center to carpool.
Please call or e-mail to RSVP prior to the trip and to get a minimum-required equipment list.
